Great amenities help you live life to the fullest

Thursday, 02 May 2024

We all know a social and active lifestyle is key to improving wellbeing.

That’s why our retirement villages include access to a range of great amenities to help you live life to the fullest every day. From water aerobics to gardening, darts to croquet – you name it, there’s a group for it at one of our villages!

Staying fit and healthy

Keeping active isn't just good for the body; it's great for the mind too.

Join a regular fitness class in the pool or gym, take a stroll through the village gardens with the walking group or enjoy some friendly competition on the bowling green or tennis courts.

"There's croquet and bowls," says Helen, a resident at Martha's Point retirement village, "There's absolutely everything you could want. We couldn't live in a better place."

With fully equipped gyms, swimming pool and leisure amenities, you can stay fit, get active and enjoy a fulfilling lifestyle.

Unleash your creativity

Retirement is the time to pursue your hobbies and let your creativity flow.

Meet up with friends in the hobby shed for woodworking, metal work or pottery, or join the craft circle for a cuppa and work on your latest project. Perhaps you'll sing a chorus with the choir or bring out your brushes with the the art group.

"There's everything you can think of," says Kate, a resident at Classic Residences, "Jewellery and art groups, there's a choir and I play croquet. I'm learning to play pool!"

Plus, if there’s not already a group at your village that fits your passion, you can start your own! There's always an enthusiastic group of people ready to try something new.

Dig plants? We do too!

Communal gardens are thriving in our villages, where the green thumbs and novice gardeners flourish together.

Whether you love flowers and ornamentals or want to grow your own veggies and herbs, you can cultivate your own patch and contribute to the group effort all at once.

Make friends, have fun

Village life means you’ll always have plenty of social events and gatherings to look forward to.

Kate's husband Bert tells us they regularly enjoy meeting friends for dinner in the onsite restaurant at Classic Residences

"You meet people here, you get to know them, and next thing they say 'Oh would you like to come for dinner with us,'" says Bert, "And next thing you know - up we go to the restaurant. We've made some good friends here!"

From playing pool or trying your hand at darts, enjoying happy hour at the bar, or joining in a regular trivia or card night, the community centre is the village social hub. And with an events calendar that's brimming with events, from themed dinners and movie nights to day trips out on the village bus, there's plenty of ways to get involved, meet new people and have fun.

Opt in or out - it's up to you!

With so much on offer, it’s good to know that you get to decide if you want to join in on activities or take a break. Whether it's socialising, exercising, crafting or gardening, you can join in as much or as as little as you like, depending on your own schedule and preferences.

With great amenities and welcoming community spaces, there's always something fun to do in our villages. Whether you're trying new things or perfecting old hobbies, retirement living gives you the ability to form lasting connections and do what you love.
