Ardency Kennedy Place's strong social circle

Monday, 06 May 2024

Retirement living isn’t just about independent living, it is also about fostering strong social connections. That’s why the residents of Ardency Kennedy Place not only enjoy their luxurious apartments, state-of-the-art amenities and beautiful rooftop views but also a vibrant community.

Social connections

Resident David wasn't immediately convinced when he heard about Ardency Kennedy Place. "It was a revelation when I came here. It wasn’t what I was expecting, in fact it exceeded my expectations. It was really good.” Living alone since his wife passed away, David also understands the importance of staying social. “You become unaware of how socialising is very important as you age and that is one thing that works here. I have met a lot of people here in the happy hours we have every week. Everyone is very open, very sociable and very friendly and they seem to have the same aim as me - to find somewhere we could meet with other people.”

For Susanna, a resident who lived most of her life in Adelaide, the move to Ardency Kennedy Place in Melbourne has been one she will never regret. "I have more friends here than I actually ever made in Adelaide after living there for 60 odd years. Everyone is so friendly and nice. Especially, like I said coming from Adelaide and knowing no one except my daughter, it’s been amazing.”

Freedom to choose

Finding the right balance has really worked for Susanna. She has found great friends at Ardency Kennedy Place and even though she lives alone, she never feels lonely. “You don’t feel lonely if you are living alone. In fact, sometimes you just want to stay in your apartment just to be on your own.” She loves that she has the freedom to do both - be on her own when she wants to and socialise when she feels like. “You just come up here to level 8 where the rooftop bar is and have a coffee and someone else will pop up or you give someone a buzz and say ‘Hey I am going to level 8, do you want to come for a coffee?’ That sort of thing is amazing. Everyday is a bonus here, special, something different everyday.”

Meeting new people and having great conversations is also what Christine, another resident values the most. “There is a real sense of community. There are people from different walks of life and you meet some very interesting people when you speak to them.”

Whether it’s making friends, having enticing conversations or mingling for cocktail hour, the like-minded community at Ardency Kennedy Place provides a sense of connection and belonging. Retirement living is all about making the right move and  Ardency Kennedy Place is the right place for an extraordinary retirement.
