Bernborough Ascot residents might live in apartments, but that doesn't mean they miss out on gardening! The community has its very own veggie garden that is run and taken care of by residents.

Tucked away behind a secure gate, there are nine raised garden beds that are split in half to optimise the space and allow for communal growing of vegetables including carrots, lettuce and tomatoes.

There is also a resident herb garden near the entrance of the village that is free for everyone to use.

And for those who love a peaceful stroll or bike ride, The Lores Bonney Riverwalk provides picturesque waterside views, connecting you with nature's beauty right in your neighborhood. 

Named after Maude "Lores" Bonney, Australia'' "Lady of the Sky" who made aviation history throughout the 1930s with the longest one-day flight by an airwoman, the 1.2 kilometre boardwalk winds along the Brisbane River and connects to the Newstead walkway, offering a meandering riverside walk to New Farm and beyond into the city.

With a two-metre wide riverside pedestrian path and separate cycle lanes, there's plenty of room for you and your walking buddy to comfortably enjoy the city views together!

And for those who love a good bargain or are in the mood for some serious retail therapy, DFO Brisbane is just a short drive away. Here, you can find designer brands and discounts that make shopping an exciting adventure. 

If you want to enjoy a leisurely day of taking in the city sights, retail shopping and experiences, the Brisbane CBD is only 8km away - and accessible by train from Doomben Station or City Cat from Brett’s Wharf or Northshore Hamilton ferry terminals.
