More time for the things you love

Tuesday, 15 September 2020

After a health scare overseas, Margaret is grateful for the care and support she gets in her Goodwin Close Serviced Apartment.

After spending 3 months in a hospital in a foreign country, Margaret found it hard to keep up with household duties when she came home. Soon after, she made what she considers to be the best decision she has ever made when she moved into Goodwin Close.

‘I'm so grateful that I’m in a village surrounded by staff and residents who genuinely care about me.’

Today, Margaret is still happy with her decision. She’s closer to her daughter and son, who live in the local area, and also grateful for all the care and support she receives in the village. Which has been even more important throughout the global pandemic.

‘I really feel for people who have had to go through these uncertain times living on their own. I’m so grateful that I'm in a village surrounded by staff and residents who genuinely care about me,’ Margaret says.

Always somebody to talk to

Margaret loves the diverse and friendly community at Goodwin Close. And she appreciates always having somebody to talk to in the village. Margaret loves how she can learn something new every day with the range of activities available. And most importantly, she feels safe and secure.

Margaret likes the balance of being able to enjoy quiet time alone while having the opportunity to talk to friends and engage in things to do if she wants.

Saving time and enjoying more in a Serviced Apartment

As a Serviced Apartment resident, Margaret doesn’t have to worry about providing her meals or cleaning and heavy laundry. This means she has more time to focus on the things she loves, like learning new skills, which Margaret says is an important part of life.

Margaret recently learnt and mastered the art of patchwork quilting. She's spent time preparing patchwork for her 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. And for a 5th great-grandchild who’ll be making their way into the world very soon.
