A new chapter begins with the opening of Poinciana House

It was an amazing day of celebration at Bernborough Ascot as it officially opened Poinciana House, the latest addition to its vibrant retirement living precinct.
Residents, staff and special guests gathered to mark the milestone and explore the thoughtfully designed new space. With stunning views over the Doomben Racecourse, architecturally designed apartments and access to resort-style amenities like a wellness hub, café, indoor pool and bowling green, Poinciana House is set to offer a vibrant and connected lifestyle for retirees.
The event was led by Keyton CEO Nathan Cockerill, joined by residents of Figtree and Poinciana House, the Keyton leadership team and builder partners Balmain & Co. Special guests included The Hon. Tim Nicholls, Councillor Julia Dixon and Brisbane Racing Club Chairman Richard Morrison, who took part in the official ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Guests enjoyed a warm Welcome to Country by Shannon Ruska, delicious catering provided by the Brisbane Racing Club, live music and a range of wellness activities throughout the afternoon.

Bernborough Ascot community events are always exciting. U & I Designs, a fashion brand that designs high-quality and stylish clothing specifically for over 55s, showcased their latest collection. The master’s lounge at the resort was the chosen setting for the residents who took centre stage as models and showcased the collection. The runway sparkled with elegant styles and graceful ensembles, each piece reflecting the residents’ unique personalities. “We were happy to participate. The five of us ladies had fun parading the lovely outfits from U & I,” expressed one of the residents. The attendees also had a chance to shop the collection after the show. The event was attended by 20 people, including the residents and the broader community who enjoyed a morning tea filled with laughter and conversation.

It was a night to remember for the residents of Bernborough Ascot, who had the incredible experience of seeing the world’s number one ABBA tribute band, BJORN AGAIN, perform live, right next door at the iconic Doomben Racecourse. With their retirement resort perfectly positioned beside this vibrant entertainment hub, residents didn’t have to travel far to enjoy a dazzling evening out. Among them was resident Barbara, who described the event as “so much fun” after joining fellow residents and guests for a special VIP function before the unforgettable concert. Bernborough Ascot’s prime location offers residents a lifestyle full of excitement, connection and unique experiences right on their doorstep.
