A fresh new space: Sandringham Lodge is officially open

13 January 2025

Buderim Gardens recently celebrated a significant milestone — the grand reopening of the beautifully refurbished Sandringham Lodge Serviced Apartments. The joyous event brought together residents from Keyton villages across the Sunshine Coast, along with the Buderim Gardens village management, property and refurbishments teams.

Sandringham Lodge is Keyton’s only Serviced Apartments offer in Queensland. The lodge includes 15 apartments, with a limited number currently for sale. This unique offering provides residents with a comfortable and convenient lifestyle, providing support and assistance with nutritious meals, cleaning and heavy laundry services and a 24 hour emergency call system. In December, Sandringham Lodge was reopened after undergoing major refurbishment updates to elevate the experience of residents even further.

The extensive project has breathed new life into Sandringham Lodge, transforming its communal areas, including the dining and sitting rooms, into warm and inviting spaces. The outdoor areas have also been revitalised with lush new gardens, stylish furniture, a community garden and a brand-new barbecue area. These enhancements have created a welcoming environment where residents can relax and socialise.

Village Manager Steven Holmes is very excited about the updates to the space. “Residents now enjoy a stress-free lifestyle with food and cleaning services, plus access to village amenities like social clubs, an onsite café, library, cinema, craft and hobby room, communal garden, swimming pool, village bus and community centre.”

The grand reopening event was a delightful occasion. Approximately 80 Keyton residents from across the Sunshine Coast region came along to celebrate the occasion along with the Buderim Gardens village team. The celebration featured a morning tea catered by in-house chefs, engaging lawn games and an open-home display suite, allowing guests to actively experience the newly refurbished spaces.

Village Manager Steven especially enjoys the less stressful lifestyle for residents at Sandringham Lodge, where food and cleaning are taken care of, allowing residents more time to relax and enjoy life. Residents have full access to village amenities and activities, including social clubs, the onsite café Rumours, a library, cinema, craft and hobby room, communal garden, swimming pool, village bus and the community centre.

"We look forward to making this place a better place to be for all,” Steven says.

The grand reopening of Sandringham Lodge marks a new chapter for Buderim Gardens, providing residents with a beautiful and functional space to enjoy their retirement years. This refurbishment not only enhances the living experience but also underlines the sense of community and belonging among residents.
