Viewbank Gardens opens newly renovated community centre

 10 October 2023

For the residents, reopening the community centre was more than just a physical transformation; it marked the return of social gatherings and hosting events. A resident shared, “We truly missed this building during construction. We resorted to gathering in some of the residents’ garages for our regular catchups.”

Upon entrance, a semi-rounded room adorned with large windows with abundant natural light welcomes you. There is also a well-stocked library, a fireplace and a grand piano that adds a touch of musical elegance to the surroundings. Overall, the new building creates a great impression of the village's character- a warm and inviting community.

Fun and entertainment

The open day was a lively event. To set the mood of the day, Jen Hawley, musician and entertainer, strummed her guitar and serenaded to soulful songs. One of the standout attractions was the live caricature artist Phil Bowler from Melbourne Caricatures. He skillfully brought residents and guests to life on paper with his playful and amusing art.
