We’re sustainability winners

We’re first in Australia in the Retirement Living category of the 2022 Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark.

For the third year in a row, we’ve ranked first in Australia in the Retirement Living category of the Global Real Estate Benchmark (GRESB).

Our ranking puts us first in the Asia Pacific for Standing Investments and Development in the Residential non-listed core property type. And it means we’ve maintained our 5-Star GRESB rating.

This shows that for the 2021 calendar year, we:

  • Reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 0.2% compared to 2020, which is the same as removing 133 car trips from Melbourne to Sydney.

  • Reduced total village water consumption by 2.4%, saving the equivalent of 11 Olympic-sized swimming pools.

  • Increased total village recycling by 2.6%, which is the same as the annual household waste generated by 1,500 people.

Across our organisation, we’re committed to Mission Zero. Which is our target to be net zero carbon by 2025 and absolute zero carbon by 2040.

We know the importance of sustainability to our residents, and it’s always been a priority for our business. Our results reflect our commitment to creating sustainable living places for our residents.
