Keyton confirms CEO transition, reinforces continuity and pipeline

Monday, 20 July 2026

Keyton Retirement Living has confirmed that CEO Nathan Cockerill will step down following twelve years with the business, including six years as Chief Executive Officer.

Cockerill has played a central role in shaping Keyton’s growth, including leading the transition from Lendlease Retirement Living to the Keyton brand and embedding a strong customer-focused approach across the business.

He will remain in the role until 31 July 2026 to ensure a smooth and orderly transition.

Keyton’s leadership team remains established and in place, with CFO Paul Martin stepping into the role of Interim CEO while a search for a successor is underway.

The business will continue to operate with consistency across its national portfolio, supported by a strong development pipeline and no change to its strategic priorities or day-to-day operations. Under Cockerill’s leadership, Keyton has progressed significant development projects across Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales and the ACT, notably VerSo Place in Victoria, its first acquisition under the Keyton brand.

The company’s current investor group — Aware Super, Lendlease and APG — remains committed and supportive of Keyton’s long-term strategy and growth trajectory.

Keyton Chair Rod Fehring said the focus was on continuity and stability.

“Nathan has made a significant contribution to Keyton and leaves the business strongly positioned for the future, with a clear strategy, a talented leadership team and positive momentum across our operations,” he said.

“We have full confidence in Paul Martin to lead the business as Interim CEO and ensure continuity while we undertake a thorough process to appoint a new CEO.”

Outgoing CEO Nathan Cockerill said the business was well placed for its next phase.

“It has been a privilege to lead Keyton and work alongside a team dedicated to delivering exceptional retirement living experiences,” he said.

“I am proud of what we have achieved together and believe the business is well positioned for continued success.”
