Celebrating 40 years of Abervale

Abervale Residents with Nathan Cockerill

Abervale recently celebrated a significant occasion - its 40th anniversary. It was a gathering filled with warmth, laughter, and a true sense of community.

Our vibrant village came alive as residents joined together to commemorate this momentous occasion. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement and a profound appreciation for the journey we have embarked upon over the past four decades.

Abervale residents since 2011.

After 42 years of living on their farm at Teasdale, then 16 years in a Highton unit, Joan and Ron Anderson made the move to Abervale retirement community nine years ago and they’re grateful every day for their decision.

“Farm life was rewarding but Abervale is on a whole other level since we retired. We have so much space here, a wonderful social life, and the sense of security …” Joan said. “If I could do only one thing differently – it would have been to move to Abervale sooner.”
