Meet the residents of Kingfisher Grove

Monday, 28 July 2025

Meet the amazing people that make Kingfisher Grove such an extraordinary place to retire.

Meet Jennifer and Trevor along with Robyn and Chris who have shared a close friendship and neighbourhood for many years. So when one couple decided to make the move to Kingfisher Grove, it didn’t take long for the other to follow. Now, both couples continue to enjoy their strong bond in a vibrant, welcoming community that feels just like home.

Longtime friends move to the village together

When Jennifer and Trevor first spotted Kingfisher Grove being built near Jordan Springs, they were already thinking about downsizing. With Trevor struggling with some mobility challenges and Jenny juggling home maintenance, the idea of a low maintenance lifestyle in a vibrant community was too good to ignore. Jennifer says, “We were just driving past and I thought, let’s take a look.”

One visit was all it took. The plans for the community centre, the peaceful surroundings and the promise of a connected lifestyle sealed the deal. They put down a deposit and started planning their move. Their transition to Kingfisher Grove was seamless and happened at the right time. Jennifer asserts, "This is it for us. We’re glad we did it now and not later. It was a big move and quite tiring, so I’m happy it’s done."

But there was one thing left to do - tell their close friends and neighbours, Robyn and Chris. “I said to Trev, ‘How are we going to tell Robyn and Chris?’” Jenny laughs. When Robyn heard the news, her first reaction was, “What! You can’t leave me!” But Chris had a better idea, “Why aren’t we doing something like that?”

And just like that, the couple came to see Kingfisher Grove for themselves. The nature reserve views, the emus wandering through and the welcoming vibe won them over instantly. “It was all pluses. No second thoughts,” Robyn says.

Now, both couples are living the good life together. They’re active in the community, from gardening and social committees to morning lake walks and afternoon chats. Since Robyn has rheumatoid arthritis, Chris does the shopping in his electric wheelchair, zipping across the road and back in just 12 minutes. “It’s so convenient and we’ve got peace of mind knowing care packages are available if we ever need them,” Robyn says.

They’ve already been on three cruises together and are planning another around Australia. As Chris puts it, “We’re loving it here. We love Kingfisher Grove and the community and friendship it offers.”
