Residents and staff celebrate Keyton's Village of the Year Award 2024

 9 April 2025

Winning Keyton's Kudos Award for Village of the Year is no small feat especially with so many villages in the running. CEO Nathan Cockerill expressed his pride, saying, "Being number one among 76 villages means a lot and it is really hard to win. I congratulate the Bellflower residents on this well deserved recognition."

To celebrate, the village hosted a high tea event with champagne and live music, bringing together 250 residents and staff in a vibrant display of community spirit. Proud resident Melanie praised the village's leadership, saying, "We have a fantastic and responsive village manager, Mandy. She’s been here only nine months, but the changes she’s brought have been absolutely fantastic. She’s approachable, easy to talk to and truly makes this place feel like home."

For village manager Mandy, the award is more than just a title, to her it reflects the spirit of the community. "Winning this award has given residents an extra sense of pride and belonging. They’re more engaged, more passionate about living here and it creates a lovely feeling of wellbeing and good spirit among everything else."

Resident Mandy (yes, another Mandy) highlights the beautifully maintained outdoor spaces and how residents enjoy their own gardens. For Melanie, however, it’s the friendships that make Bellflower Retirement Resort truly special. "It’s the people that make this place feel like home."
