Meet the residents of Classic Residences
Meet the lovely people of Classic Residences who make the retirement village a place where community, friendships and wellbeing thrive.
Satya, Kate and Bert, are some of the vibrant residents of Classic Residences who are truly thriving in retirement. From staying active to enjoying a rich social life, each of them has a unique story to share about what makes living here so special. Hear firsthand how Classic Residences has become a place they proudly call home.
Satya leads an active life
When Satya, a retired teacher, decided to downsize, she saw it as an opportunity to be closer to her family. When her and her husband made the move from a big family home to a retirement village, she wasn't sure if it was the right fit for them but the genuine warmth and hospitality of her fellow residents quickly put her at ease. "The people here were very helpful and the management is excellent, so I never regretted it," Satya recalls.
Being part of a close-knit community, Satya knows that support is never far away. 10 months after they moved to the village, Satya lost her husband but she feels fortunate to be part of a community that has always been there for her when she needed it. “We have so many friends who are very helpful, it’s almost like having a second family here.”

Now, Satya has taken on the responsibility of writing for the village newsletter - a role she relishes! She sees it as a vital way to keep everyone connected and informed, whether it's sharing community news, marking milestones or welcoming new residents. “Whenever newcomers come, we have a morning tea for them, make them feel welcome. I take their photos and put it in the newsletter so that people know who they are." Satya is always in tune with what's happening and when she's not writing for the newsletter, she loves singing in the choir and getting creative with the sewing group. "I have no time to think about anything, I’m just very busy doing things!” she laughs.
From fitness classes and friendly competition on the bowls lawn, to arts and crafts and community gardening, retirement village living offers so much. She says, "The village is the perfect place to support my main goals in life, which are to be self-reliant, independent and helpful to my fellow residents all while leading a happy and active life. I look forward to it every day."
Kate and Bert love the community
When Kate and Bert were looking to move into an apartment, they tested all the options in the neighbourhood, Bert recalls, "It was a difficult choice to pick, it took us about 3 years altogether. In the finish we decided to come here. Classic Residences was the best option."

Married for over 60 years, the couple are social butterflies at heart and that's why they have fully embraced the bustling community at Classic Residences. Kate's taken up pool and dabbles in craft and croquet while Bert loves darts and wine and plays each week. Kate says, "There is everything you can think of, you name it, we've got it here! We are so happy that we came to a place where people are of a similar age to us. Here, it is a like starting afresh with new friends but it is lovely to get to know new people."
She continues, "We have three adult children in their 50s who found it a big relief knowing that their parents are well looked after. In a way I am sorry we didn't come earlier."
