Meet resident Jacqueline Secombe flying high at 95!
A former member of the Australian Women Pilots’ Association (AWPA), Jacqueline hadn’t piloted an aircraft for over two decades when she met Greg, the son of a fellow resident at Parkland Villas Woodlands.
When Greg learnt of Jacqueline’s experience as a pilot, he suggested that his son, Tom, a flight instructor, could take her flying for her upcoming 95th birthday.
Never one to pass up an opportunity for adventure, Jacqueline agreed, and rather than being a passenger, joined Tom as co-pilot for the journey.
For almost four decades, June Neal has called her elegant villa, in the centre of leafy Parkland Villas Woodlands home. As the village community recently celebrated the 40th Anniversary of its opening, we caught up with June to learn more about her retirement lifestyle.
