Forest Hills residents celebrate brand new Community Centre

The village’s communal space has recently undergone a full makeover and to celebrate, residents were welcomed to a special grand opening ceremony. Village Manager Leanne Zannoni shared her excitement about the refreshed community centre, describing it as a place where residents can catch up, enjoy a chat and take part in our social dinners and happy hours.”

Leanne also highlighted the newly updated Banksia Room, which has quickly become a favourite among residents. It’s perfect for our craft group, or simply a cosy spot to relax and enjoy a good game of Scrabble to keep the mind active,” she said. Our alfresco area is a new addition that residents are looking forward to using all year round for BBQs and as a general area to sit and enjoy a coffee and chat.’ On top of that, the lush and meticulously designed new gardens not only surround the alfresco dining space, but also provide a picturesque view enhancing residents’ dining enjoyment.

The new village centre perfectly represents the community spirit at Forest Hills, which was visibly evident at the opening event. The spotlight shifted to George, a resident of the village, as he celebrated his 100th birthday. The room resounded with a harmonious chorus of "Happy Birthday," a true testament to the bonds forged within this close-knit community.

‘The new community centre is the pride of the residents. Since our opening, they have not been able to stay away. They love to show off the new hub to their families and have a new space to read and catch up with friends,’ Leanne said.
