Picture this: you're living independently, free to come and go as you please, but you're not alone in managing life's everyday tasks. If you're looking for some extra support around the home, but still want to live an independent and active retirement, a Serviced Apartment is a great option for you. It's the perfect blend of convenience and independence, free from the weight of all those little jobs around the home.
It’s a common mix‑up, but Serviced Apartments are actually quite different from aged care.
In Serviced Apartments, you still enjoy your independence, have your own space, your own routine and the flexibility to keep doing what you love. Many residents work part‑time, stay active and enjoy a busy social life within a vibrant, connected retirement village community. Our Serviced Apartments give you support when you want it and freedom when you need it. Aged care, on the other hand, is designed for someone who needs ongoing support and can no longer manage daily life on their own.

Your apartment is thoughtfully designed for comfortable, independent living with a kitchenette, ensuite and a cosy living area you can personalise to truly feel like home.
As your needs change, optional services are also readily available. Many of our villages offer visiting hairdressers, podiatrists, physiotherapists and other health professionals and the village team can help connect you with local wellbeing providers. You can also arrange additional support like in‑home care or shopping deliveries directly to your Serviced Apartment.
Buderim Gardens Serviced Apartment in Queensland
Resident Lynne, after raising seven children and spending years rotating between her three adult kids’ homes to help with school pick‑ups and grandkids, she’d grown used to helping out her family and never really needing a place of her own. But eventually, she felt ready for a new chapter, one that offered independence and ease. Moving into a Serviced Apartment brought exactly that.
“The lovely thing is you no longer need an ironing board, a washing machine, 15 salad platters or 100 towels. Downsizing was incredibly liberating,” Lynne laughs.
Resident Lynne
She loves the thoughtful design of her apartment with ample storage, a streamlined kitchenette and a generously sized shower that offers comfort now and practicality for the future. Along with meals, cleaning maintenance and laundry all taken care of, Lynne finally gets to enjoy life without the constant household workload. She especially appreciates the nutritious food and the personalised care from the village cook, Raj, who welcomes residents’ feedback on the seasonal menu.
“People need to be aware of what’s available. Some may say, “Oh well, I’m not needing that YET! But the ‘yet’ can come mighty fast – if arthritis or other ageing annoyances increase - or all circumstances can change overnight in the event of a stroke. We need to be encouraged to think ahead and have a contingency plan already in place. Think about it before you need it."
Today, Lynne enjoys the freedom, security and comfort of having a home that is truly her own and a life that finally feels lighter.
